Fayetteville woman dies nearly two weeks after house fire

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — A Fayette County woman died this week of injuries she suffered in a Jan. 28 fire.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office said Nancy Knupp was critically injured in the blaze in her Fayetteville home. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Knupp suffered burns to 35 percent of her body when her High Street home caught on fire. Her husband was also injured.

Knupp died at a Virginia burn center earlier this week.
