United Bankshares declares dividend

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — United Bankshares announced Monday its board of directors declared a first quarter 2014 dividend of 32-cents per share.

The dividend payout will be approximately $22 million on nearly 69 million shares. It becomes payable April 1.

United recorded a 40th consecutive year of dividend increases in 2013. The company said only one other major banking company in the U.S. has a similar record.
