MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A seven-game winning streak has the West Virginia women’s basketball knocking on a top-10 ranking.

The Mountaineers (24-3, 13-2) climbed two spots to No. 11 in the latest Associated Press poll announced Monday, benefiting from last week’s blowout wins over No. 12 Oklahoma State 77-45 and Kansas State 61-40.

This week brings a Wednesday night home game against Texas Tech (6-20, 0-15) preceding Sunday’s showdown in Waco against No. 6 Baylor (24-3, 14-1). The Bears beat West Virginia 78-62 on Jan. 8 in Morgantown.

West Virginia has not been ranked in the top 10 since reaching No. 8 on Jan. 24, 2011. The highest-ever ranking in program history was No. 6 on Dec. 20, 2010, where the Mountaineers remained for four consecutive weeks.
