MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Former Martinsburg High School star quarterback Justin “Cookie” Clinton pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Tuesday in Berkeley County Circuit Court on 12 criminal counts including kidnapping.

Cookie Clinton remains in jail on $285,000 bail.

Clinton, 19, was indicted by a Berkeley County grand jury last week. He’s charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of petit larceny, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of breaking and entering of an automobile, one count of burglary, one count of kidnapping, one count of battery and one count of domestic battery. The crimes allegedly happened last September, November and December.

Circuit Judge John Yoder tentatively scheduled Clinton’s trial for May 6. He remains in the Eastern Regional Jail on $285,000 bail.

Clinton was a first-team All State player in 2012 when he led Martinsburg to its third straight AAA football title.
