MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen unveiled a spring practice depth chart on Sunday, with one rather notable omission.
Freshman Shelton Gibson, a four-star receiver who was the highest-rated recruit in WVU’s 2013 class, was missing amid reports he spent last season as a partial qualifier. Gibson was viewed practicing during preseason camp last August before Holgorsen announced plans to redshirt the prospect from Cleveland Heights, Ohio. As a partial qualifier, Gibson would have been prohibited from practicing once the academic year started, a ban that would stretch through spring semester also.
