NORMAN, Okla. — Following West Virginia’s 72-62 loss at Oklahoma on Wednesday night, coach Bob Huggins addressed the media on topics such as how did Buddy Hield suddenly get so open in the second half.

The Mountaineers dropped to 8-9 in the Big 12 and fell into a three-way tie for sixth place with Oklahoma State and Baylor.

I think I'll do one of the charity golf things this year with WVU coaches just to ask him what he thinks of ignorant comments like the ones below.

    • Barry

Keep playing defense. This coach needs it.

  • DP

William and mad hatter-PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go walking hand in hand and Play on the Railroad Tracks!!! What a relief that would be to ALMOST ALL of the rest of us!!!!!

I sit back and watch the syracuse's of the world, basically being guaranteed a ncaa tourney bid BEFORE FEBRUARY basically every season and I just wonder why it hasn't even happened once in my life for wvu...I mean every season those guys start off 17 - 0 or 14 - 1 or something like that, why is that not possible atleast once in a blue moon for us? I just don't get it...we have to scrap and claw all the way to the end to barely make it in the ncaa tourney, the seasons that we do make it...

    • william

When you have a terrible coach, it's easy to see were the problem is.

      • Aaron

Interesting. Jim Boeheim says Bob Huggins in one of the top coaches in America but then what does he know, right Hatter.

  • watts315

I'm so sick of the " maybe next year " crap...that's a long time from now, we don't even know if we'll be alive next season, I want to win and win now...do you ever hear coach K say maybe next year? do you ever hear jim boeheim say it? calipari? pitino? that's just a few of the names of coaches who get their team to the ncaa tournament basically every season for the last DECADE! must be nice! here we are missing out for the 2nd straight season, I'm thoroughly disgusted...I literally cannot even get into the ncaa tourney when my team isn't there, I have a blast when they make it though, best postseason tournament there is, yet once again march madness is march sadness for me...ugh...

Wouldn't it be nice to have a head coach with CLASS and GREAT CHARACTER?
Then you would have a winner.

    • Aaron

You know him personally Hatter that you can speak of his class and character? This from a man that calls student athletes names on a web site.

Seriously man, what is wrong with you?

  • William

Holton is not a player that I would ever want to see wear a WVU uniform!
I would NOT pay a dime to watch this guy play.
The more Huggins recruits, the more I DISLIKE WVU Basketball.
How old will he be when he plays his first game with WVU? -- 25, 26?
Holton stay out of Morgantown and take your BAGGAGE with you

    • Aaron

He will be 21-22 hatter. Whys he hit your bloomers all bunched for, you have a sister go to RI?

  • William

Get ready for "Sweatsuit" Huggins post game show -
    He will say -
    We can't______
    We don't______
    We can't______
    We don't______
As long as this terrible coach is at WVU, then I hope they lose every game-
    I'm lovin' it
    I'm lovin' it
    and yes,
    I'M LOVIN' IT ALOT

  • mad hatter

now bob is right about several issues, with these numbskulls, much of what he's saying , the player in question, should have learned this in high school... but again, we need to research a guy before we say come and be 1/13th of our team and also, we need to recruit both legal and academic qualifiers. That is strictly on bobby and his staff..

    • Aaron

Does it make you feel like a big man Hatter to call a student athlete a name? Seriously man, what is wrong with you?

  • mad hatter

Let,s see, who recrutied these "dumbies"who are all deaf . just speaking rhetorically, i concur.

    • Aaron

I hardly think 18-22 year old college kids are dumbies because they didn't live up to your expectations Hatter.

  • Marty

Seriously is it's hugs fault they can't get down the floor an play defense an most nites Bout any body in stands could shoot as good not there first time ever playing bball

  • squad

love the positive slant headline here...how do you defend that? really? its so obvious..

  • jay zoom

taking the liberty of sending HUGS a box of tissues. listen to the video people --- he puts the blame on everybody but himself to a certain extent. maybe he should let Oliver Luck coach the team then he can go out in the parking lot and rip off the mountaineer faithful for $20.00 at the Kansas game I hear its a sellout

    • Aaron

How are any of his comments blame. I know you can't engage in intelligent dialogue so the question if rhetorical to demonstrate to those who happen to see this that you are not a WVU fan and that your comments are based in bias and a deep seated anger that is somewhat chilling,.

    • Allen

Does Huggins take the shots? Did Huggins stop diving for the balls? Did Huggins stop playing defense and lay down? Did Huggins give up on the floor?

You people come out of the wood work when WVU loses.

      • don hamrick

Allen, you hit the nail on the head. Huggs can't go in and play the game himself; he can only tell his players what to do and the rest is up to them. Every comment he made is absolutely true. And boy do we ever need a big man who can shoot the ball. If we had a nickel for every 3 footer Williams has missed this year we could buy tickets to the final four games.

  • Aaron

Is there somewhere to see the entire press conference?
