Fayette County police investigate deaths of two children

HILLTOP, W.Va. — Two young children were found unresponsive in a mobile home Tuesday morning in Fayette County, they were later pronounced dead.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said the 3-month-old and 1-year-old were unconscious and not breathing when they arrived at the home in the Mountainair Mobile Home Park in Hilltop at about 9 a.m.

Deputies began CPR until ambulance crews arrived on the scene. The children were pronounced dead at Plateau Medical Center.

The cause of death was not initially known.
