WV couple killed in Maryland wreck

WILLIAMSPORT, Md., — A Berkeley County couple was killed Tuesday in a crash on Interstate 81 in Maryland.

Police identified the victims as Joseph Digiovanni, 69, and his wife, 68-year-old Esther Digiovanni, of Falling Waters.

The couple was traveling north near Williamsport, Md., when Joseph Digiovanni slowed down because of road construction. Police said another vehicle rear-ended him. The Digiovanni’s vehicle burst into flames. Police believe they died on impact.
