Raleigh man charged in child sex case

BECKLEY, W.Va. — A Raleigh County was arrested Thursday on charges of sexual abuse by a custodian, possession of child pornography and filming a minor in explicit sexual conduct.

State Police said they discovered video of James E. Patton, 46, of Eccles engaged in sexual act with a juvenile male.  Bond for Patton was set at $250,000 on Thursday and he was being held in the Southern Regional Jail.

Cpl. M.S. Efird with the State Police Beckley Detachment is handling the investigation.  He said there may be other juvenile victims linked to Patton during a time period dating back six years.
