WV State Police welcome new cadet class

INSTITUTE, W.Va. — Two weeks ago, the West Virginia State Police graduated the 63rd Cadet Class. Monday, 28 new cadets arrive at the State Police Academy in Institute to begin their training.

The 64th Cadet Class will take their oath of office Monday morning. It will be administered by U.S. Magistrate Dwane Tinsley.

The cadets will go through 25 weeks of training in and out of the classroom involving mental and physical challenges.

With a number of senior troopers set to retire in the coming months, the new cadets will help build back up the ranks.
