Guilty plea in Elkins murder case; judge postpones final ruling

ELKINS, W.Va. — A judge said Monday he’ll take a guilty plea made by an Elkins man under advisement before he decides whether or not to accept it.

Wade Raese

Wade Allen Raese, 26, pleaded guilty to second degree murder in connection with last July’s shooting death of 45-year-old Ryan Earl Young of Duncan, South Carolina.

Raese entered an information with prosecutors. He was originally charged with first degree murder.

Senior Status Judge Thomas Steptoe said he’ll make a decision on the plea after reviewing a pre-sentence investigation.

Raese shot Young in a car in the Highland Park are of Randolph County last July.

The judge has scheduled another hearing in the case for May 1.
