WHEELING, BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — There were two bank robberies in West Virginia Tuesday afternoon. Both were reported at just before 1 p.m.
Police in Wheeling said the United Bank branch at the corner of 12th and Main streets was robbed by a white man wearing a green hoodie. He had a knife. He got away with an undisclosed amount cash. He ran from the scene.
Preston County police said the Wesbanco branch in Bruceton Mills was the site of a robbery at about the same time. The suspect is described as a thin white man, about 5-10, wearing a gray t-shirt, black pants, a cap and work gloves. Police said he also had a knife and fled the scene with cash.
Investigators are looking for a late model black Dodge Durango.
