Jimmy Buffett, Maroon 5 to perform at The Greenbrier Classic

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Jimmy Buffett and Maroon 5 will headline the 2014 Greenbrier Classic Concert Series as part of The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA Tour event.

“I think we’ve really knocked it out of the park,” said Jim Justice, the owner of The Greenbrier Resort, during Tuesday’s concert announcement. “I’m tickled to death because I don’t know how it gets any better than this, I really don’t.”

Jimmy Buffett will perform in Greenbrier County on Saturday, July 5, while Maroon 5 will headline the Fourth of July show on Friday, which will include fireworks.

The concerts are part of the fifth annual Greenbrier Classic. It opens on June 30 on The Old White TPC course. As of Tuesday, Justice said the field of players had not been finalized.

Admission to either the Maroon 5 or Jimmy Buffett show is included in the purchase of a weekly Greenbrier Classic tournament badge.  The price is $60 per person and there are also other badge types available.

More information about Greenbrier Classic badges, including purchase information, can be found here.

“We hope you ring the phones until they can’t ring anymore,” said Justice of badge sales.  “We want you to come.”

The lead singer for Maroon 5, a band that’s won three Grammy awards and sold more than 17 million albums worldwide, is Adam Levine who serves as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.”  Maroon 5’s hits include “She Will Be Loved” and “Moves Like Jagger.”

Buffett is a singer, songwriter and best-selling author who’s known for classic songs like “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger In Paradise.”

Justice said separate shows from Lionel Richie and Lady Antebellum—specifically for those involved in making The Greenbrier Classic happen—were scheduled for July 2 and July 3 at Colonial Hall in Lewisburg.

Tickets for those shows are not available to the public.
