Shooting death follows axe chasing incident

CLENDENIN, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man who was allegedly chasing another man with an axe was shot and killed Sunday afternoon according to sheriff’s deputies.

Robert Parsons, II, 38, of Clendenin, was pronounced dead after the shooting near Robinson Run Road in the Clendenin area. Deputies said he was shot by the man he was chasing. His name has not been released.

The initial calls to Kanawha County Metro 911 reported the axe incident.

No charges have been filed. Deputies are consulting with the county prosecutor’s office.
