Elton John fans line-up for concert tickets

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A long line of Elton John fans were waiting outside the Charleston Civic Center Friday morning. Tickets went on sale for his Charleston concert at 10 a.m.

One of his biggest fans was in line to get her seat for the June 11 event. Theresa Scarberry said she’s been waiting year for years to see the Rocket Man live.

“First time experience!”

It will be the second time for Nancy Holstein of Charleston.

“I got to see him the first time back in the early 70s and he introduced “Crocodile Rock,” She recalled.

She can’t wait to see him 40-years later.

John is known for his outrageous costumes and eye wear. Lauren Rutherford, of Fayetteville stood in line for two tickets, one for herself, the other for her husband.

“I’ve never seen him. He’s an icon! You know he does a good show,” said Rutherford. “It will be fabulous to see him.”

Judy Taylor was in line to get two tickets but they weren’t for her.

“Get my daughter a birthday gift of Elton John tickets. She is one of his greatest fans!”

Those standing in line were limited to a maximum, of 8 tickets. They range in price from $90 to several thousand, depending on how much you’re willing to shell out for good seats.

John was last in Charleston back in 2007.
