Driver charged in wrong way wreck

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A Kanawha County woman is facing charges today after a wrong way accident on I-64 early Saturday morning.

Kanawha County authorities say Lori Call, 41, of Nitro got on the interstate at the St. Albans exit around 3:30 a.m. and headed east in the west bound lanes.  Call collided head on with a car between Nitro and Cross Lanes in front of the Mardis Gras Casino.

The driver of the second vehicle, Daniel Harrison, 30, of Milton suffered multiple injuries and was transported to CAMC Teays Valley. Medics on the scene said his injuries were not life threatening.

After the impact, investigators say Call’s vehicle travelled another 300 feet before stopping. She suffered a leg injury and was treated and released from Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.

Deputies at the scene say Call’s blood alcohol level was .274, more than three times the legal limit. She’s charged with DUI causing injury and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
