WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Pete Sampras, a tennis hall of famer, has been named the first-ever tennis pro emeritus at The Greenbrier Resort.
Sampras — who won 14 Grand Slams and 64 singles championships during his professional career — has visited The Greenbrier during the past two Septembers to headline The Greenbrier Champions Tennis Classic with John McEnroe, a fellow hall of famer.
“Pete Sampras is the consummate gentleman ambassador for the international sport of tennis,” said Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier Resort.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him back to The Greenbrier and count him among our legendary group of sports pros.”
The Pete Sampras Tennis Clinic is scheduled for May 26 through May 28 at the The Greenbrier. There is space for 24 participants.
