Kanawha house destroyed by fire

CLENDENIN, W.Va.– A large two-story house was destroyed by fire Friday morning in Kanawha County.

Volunteer firefighters from several departments said the partially brick home in the 100 block of Liberty Drive was full of flames when they arrived on the scene at shortly before 6 a.m.

The blaze was so massive that at one point crews ran out of water, but they were able to get more water within a few minutes.

Reports indicate the house was for sale. There was no initial word on what started the blaze.
