Huntington man accused of taking off with son after busting into home

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Bond was set at $50,000 for the Cabell County man who allegedly busted into a Huntington home early Saturday, threatened his son’s mother with a gun and then took off with their baby boy.

Donzelle Dejuan Runnels, 40, of Huntington, was arrested during a traffic stop a short time later before he could get onto Interstate 64.

The child, who was found in his father’s lap, was not injured.

Runnels was charged with child neglect, nighttime burglary and domestic assault.  He had allegedly been sending the boy’s mother threatening text messages prior to the incident.
