Five injured in Kanawha County crash

HERNSHAW, W.Va. — Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies said five people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Route 94 near Hernshaw.

Deputies said a Boone County Ambulance Authority maintenance van was one of the vehicles to sustain damage. The driver had apparently stopped to allow the driver of another vehicle to make a turn. A third vehicle slammed into the rear of the van. The van slammed into a carport.

Route 94, which connects southern Kanawha County with Boone County, was closed for a period of time.

The injured were taken to Charleston hospitals.
