Preston County car wreck claims driver’s life

KINGWOOD, W.Va. — One man is dead following a single vehicle crash along state Route 7 in Preston County.

Sheriff’s deputies said the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday near the Whetsell Settlement Road intersection near Kingwood when the vehicle ran off the roadway, over an embankment and overturned. It finally came to rest along the edge of the road.

The 58-year-old driver was the only person involved. He died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.

The Preston County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
