WILMINGTON, Del. – Going-out-of-business sales will begin Thursday at Coldwater Creek’s 370 retail stores, including those in Charleston and Morgantown.

On Tuesday, a U.S. bankruptcy judge in Wilmington, Del. approved a liquidation plan between Coldwater Creek and two liquidators — Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers Retail Partners.

Coldwater Creek, a women’s apparel retailer, has not been profitable since 2007.  In addition to its stores, the company, which is based in Sandpoint, Id., also operates a distribution facility in Wood County.

As part of its Apr. 11 bankruptcy filing, the company listed $278 million in assets and a total debt of $361 million.

Received an order today from CC. I now have $97 of merchandise that does not fit me. Being a senior on a fixed income this is a hardship. I thought I would be able to at least exchange the items. The clothing that is on sale should be removed from the internet store. It is difficult to get the correct fit online. Totally unfair to consumers unless their being sold for resale!
