Stadelman, who served as Tomblin’s campaign spokesperson in two gubernatorial elections, will replace Amy Shuler Goodwin. Tomblin appointed Goodwin last week to be the state’s new tourism commissioner.

Stadelman has a lengthy media career in West Virginia, including time at the Charleston Daily Mail, owning his own newspaper and public relations company.

Tomblin said Stadelman brings “valuable knowledge and experience” to his administration. Stadelman said he’s excited about the opportunity.
