Boone man charged with sexual assault

MADISON, W.Va. — A Boone County man is in jail on sex-related charges.

Boone County sheriff’s deputies arrested J.J. Colvin, 27, of Danville Friday and charged him with first degree sexual assault. A 10-year-old boy told his mother Colvin had assaulted him when he was younger.

The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff Department’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Division.

“This is exactly the type of crime we have investigators in place to deal with.  It is a very disturbing act and we are glad to get a monster like this off the street.  The allegations are specific, and were confirmed by the confession of Mr. Colvin”, said Boone County Sheriff Randall White in a prepared release.

Colvin is charged with first degree sexual assault and is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
