Police hope autopsy provides answers in body discovery

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — South Charleston police are awaiting results from an autopsy after a man’s body was found floating in the Kanawha River Wednesday evening.

The body was spotted by a man fishing in a boat between South Charleston and Dunbar.

Investigators said the victim was fully clothed. They weren’t sure how long he may have been in the water.

The body was taken to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for that autopsy.
