MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU Hospitals has a new president and CEO. Dr. Albert Wright was named to the post Tuesday.

Wright is currently a vice president in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Shadyside.

“The selection of Mr. Wright as the new CEO for our flagship Ruby Memorial of WVU Hospitals is an important milestone for the West Virginia United Health System,” Chancellor for WVU Health Sciences Christopher Colenda said. “He brings to our organization a strong record of accomplishment as an administrator. As adjunct faculty at UPMC and a pharmacist, he also retained his connection to the patient care, teaching, and research missions that are essential to academic health centers.”

Wright’s first day in Morgantown is set for August 11

Another disgusting hire to a high profile position at WVU . Who is responsible for all these PITT hires ? This is a total joke . Do you realize Ruby Hospital AND the WVU Foundation ( the organization in charge of fund-raising for WVU ) have been hijacked by Pittsburgh natives and PITT grads ? This is inexcusable and an insult to Mountaineers everywhere ( wherever you may be ). Stand up WVU and voice your concern ! This is particularly concerning for the foundation -how can she relate (and raise $) to Mountaineer Nation when there is such a cultural divide between someone from Pittsburgh and those from West Virginia ? Yunz is a cuss word in the mountain state .

    • Do Some Research

If you would do some research on him, you would realize that he is not a Pitt grad. He went to Toledo and Ohio State (which isn't any better).

Does West Virginia not have any qualified candidate to fill the position of CEO and President?
