WVU Hospitals president chosen

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU Hospitals has a new president and CEO. Dr. Albert Wright was named to the post Tuesday.

Wright is currently a vice president in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Shadyside.

“The selection of Mr. Wright as the new CEO for our flagship Ruby Memorial of WVU Hospitals is an important milestone for the West Virginia United Health System,” Chancellor for WVU Health Sciences Christopher Colenda said. “He brings to our organization a strong record of accomplishment as an administrator. As adjunct faculty at UPMC and a pharmacist, he also retained his connection to the patient care, teaching, and research missions that are essential to academic health centers.”

Wright’s first day in Morgantown is set for August 11
