NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. — A Hancock County judge denied a request Friday to reduce the bail of a man accused of planting explosive devices around the Weirton City Building earlier this month.
Attorneys for David Patterson, 23, asked that bail be reduced from its current $150,000 down to $10,000 to $20,000. The county prosecutor was against the motion and the judge denied it.
Police found several chemical explosive devices around the city building and under a police cruiser.
Patterson was arrested Wednesday. He’s being held in the Northern Regional Jail.
