Kanawha County deputies notice increased theft

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies report an increased number of breaking and entering incidents in the Cross Lanes area of the county. The incidents involve homes, but more frequently vehicles.

Officials say it doesn’t seem to matter whether the vehicle is locked or not. The best suggestion to combat the threat is removing valuables from your automobile or hide them out of site and away from view.

One incident involved a stolen credit card in which the suspect was caught on video surveillance making purchases with the card at local businesses.  The suspect wore a camouflage jacket and a Transformers ball cap. He also appeared ot have black rim glasses wearing gray sweat pants, socks, and slippers.  Anyone knowing the suspect is asked to contact Kanawha County deputies.
