Wayne County man arrested for lethal attack on step-grandmother

WAYNE, W.Va. — A Wayne man was charged in the death of his step-grandmother, state police said.

Police arrested 23-year-old Kevin Christenson on Thursday, a day after he allegedly attacked Ruth Ann Adkins, 59, at the Valley Health Services mental health facility in Wayne during a visit.

Adkins reportedly returned to her home in Dunlow but began feeling poorly and died Wednesday night.
