Today marks the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of France during World War II. Hundreds of West Virginians were among the thousands who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Thirty-eight West Virginians died on those beaches.
Ten years ago, during the 60th anniversary of the invasion, Dale Loy of Barboursville and Eldridge Akers of Midway shared their experiences from that day with MetroNews reporter Chris Lawrence.
