A deadly weekend for West Virginia motorists

MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — It was a deadly weekend for West Virginia motorists as three separate wrecks claimed three lives.

A collision on U.S. Route 35 in Mason County Sunday morning proved deadly. The wreck involved a motorcycle and passenger vehicle. Police said one person was killed and several others injured.

Police in Jefferson County continued their investigation Monday into a Saturday evening wreck at Summit Point Raceway that claimed the life of a driving instructor. Reports indicate the driver made a sharp turn and crashed into a tree. The instructor was the passenger in the vehicle.

A Ritchie County collision Saturday morning also resulted in death. A motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck on U.S. Route 50 at about 11:30 a.m.
