Fire marshal’s office investigating two deadly fires

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Two people died in separate fires over the weekend in Marshall and Kanawha counties.

Investigators said a blaze at a residence along U.S. Route 250 between Limestone and Pleasant Valley in Marshall County claimed a life Sunday afternoon.

The victim was identified Monday as Jack Snyder, 63, of Limestone. The fire happened at 7113 Waynesburg Pike.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office said the body will undergo an autopsy but it appears a heating source issue caused the blaze.

On Saturday morning in the Kanawha County community of Jefferson a fire in a garage apartment killed Steve Hasdot, 66.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is also investigating that blaze.
