HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Huntington drowning of a Kanawha County man may have something to do with a vehicle theft in Charleston according to Huntington police.
The department issued a news release Monday afternoon that identified Michael Kelley Byrom, 42, of Kanawha County, as the identification of the body that was retrieved from the Ohio River near the boat ramp at Harris Riverfront Park in Huntington Sunday night.
Huntington police recovered a stolen vehicle from the same area Saturday. Byrom was a suspect in the crime. Police said the theft apparently took place Friday evening in Charleston.
An autopsy showed no signs of foul play.
