Man takes cash drawer in armed robbery

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston police are looking for the man who robbed the Spring Street Foodland Monday night.

Officers released security photos of the suspect Tuesday. He’s black and was wearing a blue hat.

Detectives said he entered the Foodland at about 9:20 p.m. Monday he produced a revolver-style pistol and demanded money. He told the clerk to put the entire cash drawer into the plastic bag he was carrying. The clerk did and the man ran away.

Charleston police said Spring Street Foodland is offering a cash reward for “any person willing to identify” the suspect.
