Sportsline: South coach Lewis McClung

Greenbrier West coach Lewis McClung will lead the South in Saturday’s North-South Classic from Charleston.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Greenbrier West coach Lewis McClung was guest on the MetroNews Statewide Sportsline as he gets set to lead the South in Saturday’s North-South Classic from Charleston.

“These guys have known for a couple of months that they were going to play, most of them, so hopefully they’ve been working and kept themselves in decent shape,” McClung said. “Most of our time has been spent on primarily with the linemen and formation on offense, along with routes. We’ve been trying to get in the basic Xs and Os.

“I think our kids are skilled – we have a couple of nice quarterbacks throwing the ball,” he continued. “Our receiving core looks strong and we have three nice running backs. Defensively, our line and ends look good and our linebackers are strong, along with good DBs. They’re all all-stars and it’s nice to work with that level of talent.”

The complete interview with McClung is posted above.
