RI police say human remains are that of former Charleston resident

PROVIDENCE, RI — Police in Providence, Rhode Island said Thursday the human remains found on a construction site last year are that of a Charleston man.

Phillip Seals

Phillip Seals was identified through DNA given by a relative. He was a graduate of Garnet High School in Charleston in 1953. Investigators believe he lived in Providence from 1976-1982.

Police are now treating his death as a homicide.
