Four charged in Keyser heroin overdose murder

KEYSER, W.Va. — Four Keyser residents are charged with first degree murder in connection with the May overdose death of a Keyser woman.

On May 8, Police said Bobbie Blacka, 38, was found unresponsive in an apartment at the Keyser House public housing building on North Main Street. The state Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Blacka died from a heroin overdose.

Police have charged Daisy Stewart, 31, of Keyser, the tenant of the apartment Blacka was found in, Melissa Stewart, 22, also of Keyser, 21-year-old Christian Pierce of Maysville and John Davis III, 36, also of Keyser, with murder. They are all being held at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail without bail. They also have separate bonds related to drug charges.

In addition to the murder charges Pierce, Davis and Melissa Stewart have been charged with transporting heroin into West Virginia, Daisy Stewart is an accessory to that charge. All four have also been charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin.

According to Keyser Police, Pierce, Davis and Melissa Stewart traveled to Cumberland May 7 and purchased heroin which they brought back to Keyser. After returning to the Keyser House Davis took some of the heroin and left leaving the four women including Blacka at Daisy Stewart’s apartment. The women found Blacka unresponsive and lying on the floor of the bedroom around 1a.m. however EMS was not called to the residence until 6:48 a.m.

Blacka was pronounced dead at the scene.
