Herd renews series with Ohio for 2019 & 2020

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—The Battle for the Bell will go into hiatus before resuming in 2019. Marshall Athletics Director Mike Hamrick announcing Monday, The Herd will resume its series with Ohio in 2019.

The current series is scheduled to end following next year’s game on Sept. 12 at Peden Stadium in Athens, OH.

Marshall will play host to Ohio on Sept. 14, 2019 and will travel to Athens on Sept. 19, 2020.

The Bobcats have won the last three meetings with The Herd. From 1985 to 2010 The Herd had won 12 of 14 games in the series.

The Herd will welcome the Bobcats to Edwards Stadium on Sept. 13 for a noon kickoff this year. The game falls on Marshall’s Hall of Fame Weekend and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
