COLUMBIA, Mo. – Huntington Prep basketball coach Rob Fulford will be heading to Missouri, joining recently hired Kim Anderson’s coaching staff.

Fulford joins Missouri after five years in Huntington as his team went 138-17 over that span. Huntington Prep finished No. 3 in the nation last year, going 28-4 overall.

“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Rob to the Mizzou family,” Anderson said in a Missouri release. “Rob is obviously an outstanding coach and he won at an incredible level at Huntington Prep. He is well-respected by his peers and will be a great asset to our program.

“One of Rob’s biggest strengths is his ability to build relationships with his young men,” Anderson continued. “He gets the most out of his players because of those strong relationships and that’s exactly what we were looking for as we went about completing our staff.”

Fulford began his head coaching career at Mountain State Academy (2006-09) and went 81-14 over his three seasons.

“I want to thank Coach Anderson, Mike Alden and University administration for this incredible opportunity,” Fulford said in the release. “I wasn’t looking to leave Huntington Prep but after speaking with Coach Anderson and seeing his vision for the program, this opportunity was too good to pass up and I’m excited to be a Missouri Tiger.”

Outstanding hire for Missouri. Should have had this opportunity at WVU or Marshall. Rob recruited top talent to MSA and Huntington prep. His players developed into young men with character and class. Many have gone on to top division 1 programs and even the NBA. Rob sacrificed everything to go after his dream of coaching big time basketball. This is only the beginning. Congrats coach Fulford. See u at Bob Evans, this time it's on U!
