Hurricane rising senior J.T. Rogoszewski plan to play baseball for North Carolina.

HURRICANE, W.Va. — Hurricane High baseball standout J.T. Rogoszewski announced via Twitter he has committed to North Carolina.

The rising senior was named Class AAA first-team all-state this past season after helping lead Hurricane to its first state championship since 2002.

On the mound, Rogoszewski finished the past year with an 8-1 record and 1.53 ERA. He also helped lead Hurricane to the boys basketball title game in Class AAA, where the Redskins narrowly lost to Huntington.

Former Nitro catcher Korey Dunbar just finished his sophomore year with the Tar Heels.

Hey Rawly - remember what they say about glass houses. :-)

Seen any NCAA investigators snooping around Chapel Hill lately?

I remember 5 NCAA probations under Case, Sloan and Valvano, for what Wikipedia describes as "one of the nation's most penalized programs". I also read wufpack's perennially weak SATs and observe the ACC's least-successful athletics.

    Congratulations!
Welcome to The Old North State! Many people from West Virginia have came to North Carolina and found success. Just like Ryan Switzer who has set numerous records in football at UNC. North Carolina is a blend of rural life, vibrant cities, a beautiful coast and the highest mountain east of the Mississippi. World class innovation in the research triangle. UNC is a great place. Welcome.

Easy decision. Class work is optional at best at UNC - Chapel Hill. :) He might actually have to attend a class in Morgantown or Huntington. Not that he wouldn't anyhow, but just saying.

NCAA is planning on reopening their investigation due to the most recent accusations against Roy Williams & company. My source is something called ESPN and something else they call newspapers. You might want to try sourcing those yourself sometime.
