Weirton man pleads guilty to manslaughter

WEIRTON, W.Va. — The Weirton man who killed a woman and hid her body in a closet will be eligible for parole in 20 years.

Leslie Arnold, Jr. was sentenced to life in prison with mercy in Hancock County Circuit Court this week after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the death of Tanya Garan, 51.

Garan’s body was found — wrapped in garbage bags — when Weirton Police were searching Arnold’s home last December as part of a separate robbery investigation.

Arnold had originally been charged with murder.
