Blair named D’backs top minor league pitcher in June

Phoenix, AZ— Former Marshall ace and Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Aaron Blair was honored as the organization’s Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June.

Blair, one of Arizona’s top two pitching prospects, was 3-0 in five starts in June with a 3.06 ERA in 32.1 innings. The 22-year-old led the California League with 39 strikeouts and has fanned 117 batters this season, the most in the minor leagues.

The Las Vegas native started the season in the Midwest League with South Bend before being promoted to Class A Advanced Visalia in the California League. Baseball America rated Blair as the Diamondbacks No. 5 prospect.
