Morgantown’s Seggie commits to WVU as preferred walk-on

Morgantown basketball standout Olivia Seggie committed to WVU and head coach Mike Carey for the class of 2015.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown rising senior girls basketball standout Olivia Seggie has committed to WVU’s women’s basketball recruiting class of 2015 after being offered a preferred walk-on spot with the Mountaineers.

The 5-foot-3 point guard will redshirt her freshman season at WVU. She avearged 8.4 points, 4.2 assists and 1.8 steals this past season with Morgantown, helping lead the Mohigans to the Class AAA state championship.

Seggie becomes the first Morgantown girls basketball player to walk-on at WVU since Cynthia Fullard who did so for the 2008-2009 season. Seggie has received other interest from several lower-division schools.
