Raleigh man allegedly held up Dollar General store twice

GLEN DANIEL, W.Va. — A Raleigh County man was arrested Friday and charged with robbing the Dollar General store in Glen Daniel twice last month.

Raleigh County sheriff’s deputies charged Melvin Powers, 30, of Fairdale, with two counts of first degree robbery. It’s alleged Powers was armed when he held up the store first on June 20 and again two days later.

Powers is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on $200,000 bail.
