One dead, one injured in Berkeley County fire

INWOOD, W.Va. — Investigators were working Sunday to determine the cause of the house fire that killed a man and injured a woman on Saturday night in Berkeley County.

The fire was reported near Inwood at about 8 p.m. Saturday. Work to contain the flames continued into the late night hours at the home which was located near the intersection of Route 51 — Gerrardstown Road — and Wiltshire Circle.

Firefighters with the South Berkeley Fire Department were leading those efforts with the help of firefighters from several other departments.

The injured woman was initially taken to Berkeley Medical Center for treatment. The identities of the victims were not available on Sunday.
