CLARKSBURG, W. Va. — The trial of Bridgeport Mayor Mario Blount has a new date.
After a hearing on Monday, District Judge Irene Keeley set the trail for Blount and co-defendants Angela and April Davis for 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 1.
According to a federal indictment, the three conspired together to distribute oxycodone and oxymorphone, not for legitimate medical purposes
The trial was initially set for August 4, but the three attorneys representing the three defendants and Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parr held a conference call on July 2 and discovered several conflicts which made the original date unfeasible.
One such reason is additional discovery which Parr reportedly describes as voluminous in nature and possibly resulting in further charges against the defendants.
A final pretrial hearing before December 1 is scheduled for November 14.
