Man killed in Berkeley County house fire identified

INWOOD, W.Va. — Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office have said, at this point, the cause of the house fire that claimed the life of one person and injured another person last Saturday night in Berkeley County is undetermined.

The man who died in the blaze near Inwood was identified as Jerry L. Miller, 54, of Berkeley County.

The fire was reported at about 8 p.m. Saturday. Work to contain the flames continued into the late night hours at the home which was located near the intersection of Route 51, Gerrardstown Road, and Wiltshire Circle.

An injured woman was initially taken to Berkeley Medical Center for treatment.
