Dirty Girl Mud Run not happening

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There will not be a Dirty Girl Mud Run in Charleston Saturday. The Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Tuesday evening previously agreed to contracts could not be fulfilled.

Nearly 2,600 people had signed up to take part in the mud-filled 5k at the Cato Park golf course but the event ran into trouble because of financial disputes between the owners or the event, 100, LLC and the company it pays to conduct the events, Human Movement.

The Charleston CVB said Tuesday that Park Tours, the company that was hired to provide shuttle buses to and from the site, had set a 4:30 p.m. Tuesday deadline for payment from Human Movement and did not receive it, cancelling the event.

It’s anticipated the parent company of Dirty Girl Mud Run will contact participants about refunds.
