DANESE, W.Va. — A Fayette County man was killed Tuesday afternoon when the truck he was working on collapsed on top of him.

Sheriff Steve Kessler said Loran Jones, 66, of Danese had the truck up on blocks when the jacks shifted and pinned him underneath. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The initial investigation indicates that this was just a tragic accident,” said Sheriff Kessler. “This accident does not appear to be drug or alcohol related and there is no indication of foul play at this time.”

I'm very sorry to hear that he was killed.

Always, always use jackstands when working under a vehicle.

That's horrible I hate to hear that. I worked with Jason at the Greenbrier and actually stayed with him and his family for a few weeks. His mother and father were both absolutely top-notch, Christian folks.y heart goes out to Loran's wife...the whole family will be in my prayers
